A favorite time for us to gather as a community has been to share our traditional Thanksgiving feast. Unfortunately due to the continued pandemic we were not been able to have that special event this year.  But, thanks to  generous friends and neighbors, our office manager, Carolynne, was able to pull together a Thanksgiving  food basket for 16 less fortunate families in Shorecrest!  That's a lot of turkeys and fixin's!  Thank you to all the Shorecrest members who donated food and money and a special thank you to Carolynne who made it all happen.  What a great neighborhood we live in!

As you have probably noticed, the Shorecrest garden team has been hard at work creating a wonderful garden for our community. Thank you to everyone on the team for donating your time and expertise, and a special thank you to our local garden expert, Ameilia Savinova, who has piloted this project. Since becoming involved in our garden, Amelia has gone on to become a Master Gardener and her vision to expand Shorecrest’s community garden is taking shape. She has done a great job bringing members together on the project. The new garden is now the “Connie West Community Garden” in memory of its previous caretaker who spent many hours developing and nurturing a place for the community to access fresh produce.

SHORECREST COMMUNITY VOTING RESULTS

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shorecrest Beach Clubhouse and office continue to be closed.  Although we were unable to have our annual membership meeting in April, 70 Ballots were returned and of those 70 Ballots 67 ballots were valid.  Two community volunteers, Marcia Jacobson and Janet Martini, counted the valid ballots under our office manager’s supervision. Voting results are as follows:

Conduct an audit for 2020/21:     16 YES    48 NO
Approve Budget:                             62 YES      1 NO
Board Member Candidates:  Tracy McGlothlin 59; Craig Larson 60; Patricia McCray 56

All meetings and events continue to be canceled until further notice and although the Shorecrest office is closed, our Shorecrest employees continue to work on a limited schedule.  Please respect your social distance. Payments can be made through the mail or office drop box.   If you have any questions or concerns feel free to call the office or contact any of the board members. 

These are extraordinary times and we all hope we can get back to a somewhat normal life again soon.  In the meantime, be safe and stay healthy.
