Shorecrest Board Meeting
June 10th, 2023
Meeting called to order by Mike Jacobson Roll call: Janet Martini, Joanne Krieger, Craig Larsen, Mike Jacobson, Lou Maggi Mike talked about moving the piano around in the clubhouse to make more room for when we have events. Then we discussed the Taylor Shellfish platform that is being proposed. How would it affect some owner’s views along with property values in Oakland Bay. They have changed their meeting with the community twice. The official meeting is set for August 9th. As many people as possible should attend. Someone mentioned that they think they already have the permits to proceed but we are not too sure about that. More to come regarding this. Mike talked about the possibility of building a fence by the carport so that the new house that came in would not have to look at the garden area. Janet mentioned maybe we could get the new owners of the house to go in for part of the cost. We need to look into the cost for the fence and talk about it further. We have talked about looking into the Rules and Regulations. The board members are to take a look at them and talk about them at our working board meeting. We talked about having several meetings with the Department of Health regarding eleven properties that are not in compliance to our rules and regulations. In the long run the Dept. of Health said they really can’t do any more that what we can do and put liens on the properties and it could take up to a year or more to do so. We were discouraged by this but it is what it is. We also talked about getting more aggressive with our fines. To be discussed by the board at working meeting. Tracey McGlothlin and Carolynne Brown were not at the meeting to give the Treasures update or the Office Managers update. Mike did mention that we transferred money into savings. We have had eighteen properties sold so far this year also. Pool Managers report by Teresa Holcomb. Things going along smoothly with the pool opening. Have enough attendants this year. She did mention the fact that there is a post by the bathrooms that is rotten and needs to be replaced. Elliott and Craig to look at and take care of. Maintenance update from Elliott Pridmore. Solar panels are up on the carport to be able to charge our lift trailer. Great addition at a low cost. Elliott also talked about the electrical boxes on the fence line to the pool. We need to have these changed before we have inspection of our pool. This was brought up by the inspector last year. We have had difficulty getting an electrician to come out to look at so Lou offered to help Elliott with this project. Elliott to look into the costs involved. He talked about repairing the tables at our picnic area in the park by the water. We need to put new boards on one set and possibly get one new one. Janet mentioned maybe next year we could put up a gazebo in the area for shade in the park. May need to put down a cement slab so we will have to look at costs. To be discussed at a further date. Elliott is busy keeping up on landscaping. Janet talked about the events coming up. We have a community yard sale on July 1st. There will be tables at our park area or people can have it at their house but they would have to put up signs. There will be advertising done and signs to our clubhouse area the day of the event. We are also putting on a bake sale and a raffle. We are trying to raise funds for new appliances in our clubhouse. We have recently had some issues with the stove. The raffle tickets will be on sale on July 1st and again on July 4th at our annual chicken bar-b-que. The winners names will be drawn on July 4th. We have lots of good things that will be in the raffle. On July 4th it will be a bar-b-que at the pool with music and lots of fun. Meeting adjourned.
