Office Managers Report given by Carolynne Brown. Copy available at request.
One note, our papers have been submitted to our CPA for our audit. Should be done by the
time our taxes are due.
Maintenance report given by Elliott Pridmore. New Basketball backboards purchased and should be installed the week of July 11th. We have made quite an investment in these and it should be a great addition to our community for all to use. Elliott keeping busy keeping the grounds looking good.
We have also had some vandalism around the park and pool area. We have purchased a new camera system to be installed around the area.
Pool Report given by Teresa Holcomb. Pool is running smoothly and we have enough people to work the pool. We may have one more person interested in working the pool which would be good to have lots of back up. Lot of new families with young children using the pool this year which is great to see. We had a pool inspection by Mason County. The chemicals when tested were great and with-in standards. They suggested we have a larger first aid kit to include some new requirements and this has been ordered. Then there are some issues with our fence which will be addressed as soon as possible.
Architectural Committee report by Elliott Pridmore. We had an issue with a couple landowners that we are working on to get resolved. Letters had been sent out to a few owners that are not in compliance and they are working on them.
Activities Committee report by Carolynne Brown. July 4th celebration and bar-b-que was a big success. Lot of people showed up and a lot of food was consumed. Fun was had by all. Thank you to the volunteer’s that did the background work to make it such a success.
Old Business:
We have been working on getting a carport installed to store our utility trailer. This is going to be installed on the back side of the lot where our garden is. The trailer does require electricity as it is a tilt trailer. We have purchased solar panels to handle this. Eventually our goal is to add at the back of the carport a shed of sorts so that we can lock up tools etc. for the garden. Once again vandalism has been an issue.
We had a roofing company come out and look at the roof to the clubhouse and other out buildings. They are going to have to be replaced soon. We need to get 3 bids and we may take care of the worst roof first and not all at once taking into consideration of the costs. We also are still looking at the pool having to be resurfaced. Still don’t have the cost on that repair.
New Business:
Amelia Savinova and the garden club gave a nice presentation on their vision on improving on our community garden area. The request has been made to expand the garden and add flowers to ensure that we have pollinators for our vegetable garden. They are also looking into a drip watering system. They asked to add some fruit trees and make the area more of a park like area for walkers to stop by and enjoy in front of the current garden.
Amelia is a part of the Master Gardner’s program. Our garden has been honored as a community garden worthy of the Master Gardner’s association, due to all the work that our garden club has done. We could actually have classes pertaining to our garden and how to grown things properly.
Other business:
There was some inquiry into having some time for adult swimming other than the quiet time already set in place. Maybe water aerobics or something like that maybe 2 times a week. There is quiet time Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 – 12:00. We talked about the pool being quiet from 6 – 7 PM. We will discuss further. We want all of our community to enjoy our facilities.
Suggestion was made to send out the minutes and itinerary for board meetings via email to landowners. This way if people want to get involved in a specific thing that we are to discuss they can join the meeting. This would help to insure people fully understand things going on in our community and then have more input from the people of our community. Currently these are posted on our website. Board to look into.
